Wages are different between male and female dominated professions, but I think that the issue is not really as directly gender related as it seems. Wage and career inflexibility on the part of the unemployed help guarantee the low supply of parking lot attendants. Geographic need for parking lot attendants would seem to have foci where unemployment is lower anyways, and even if that is untrue, there are some experience requirements for these jobs - I don't think the wage market is infinitely flexible on an infinitesimal time scale. Women have been clamoring to teach for much longer then there has been an employment problem.
There is also motivation, which both sides ignore - women tend to enjoy the other benefits of working with children more than men. And yes, this partially reflects cultural biases, but that means that non-monetary benefits of working with children are not fully accounted for in the distinction. And even the biggest car geek doesn't like them enough to settle for working in a parking garage forever.
